COLUMBIA, Mo. University of Missouri sophomore Dominique Richardson was chosen to the Preseason All-Big 12 soccer team, voted on by the Big 12 Conference's head coaches, the league announced on Thursday. Last season, she earned All-Big 12 Newcomer Team honors and was recognized by Top Drawer Soccer as one of the Top 100 College Freshmen in the nation.

Richardson started each of the 19 games last year during her freshman campaign. She tallied 1557 total minutes and scored three goals in her first season at the collegiate level, including a free kick from 40 yards out against DePaul to tie the game up in the 80th minute.

The Fullerton, California, native is joined on the Preseason All-Big 12 team by players from Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Oklahoma. The 2011 Big 12 preseason poll will be announced Friday, Aug. 12. the same day the Tigers play Illinois in an exhibition match at Walton Stadium at 6:30 pm.

The Tigers open up the regular season on the road against University of San Diego in San Diego on Friday, Aug. 19 and begin the home slate on Sunday, Aug. 21 against Eastern Illinois at 6:30.
