Soccer Ranked No. 19 in Preseason Power Ranking

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou soccer team enters the 2013 season ranked No. 19 in the BennettRank NCAA Division I Women's College Soccer Preseason Rankings.

The Southeastern Conference ranks second with five teams listed among the top-20 teams in the BennettRank poll. The Atlantic Coast Conference leads the way with nine, while the Pac-12 Conference has two and the Big 12 Conference, Big Ten Conference, Big East Conference and West Coast Conference all have one.

Other SEC schools in the poll include No. 5 Florida, No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 15 Tennessee and No. 16 Auburn.

The Tigers return eight starters and 15 letterwinners from 2012's 14-7-1 campaign that saw the squad earn its fifth-ever NCAA Tournament berth. The 14 wins also tied for second in the program's single-season wins list.

Missouri kicked off preseason practices on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The team first hits the field in an exhibition contest against SMU on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium. The Tigers officially open the 2013 season on Friday, Aug. 23 with a home contest against Pacific at 6:30 p.m.
