The women's soccer program takes the field as the first Mizzou sport to kick off preseason training. Two-a-day practices began on Wednesday, Aug. 1, to prepare for an exhibition game against Southern Methodist University in Dallas on Saturday, Aug. 11, kickoff set for 7 p.m.

The Tigers' effort this early in training made Head Coach Bryan Blitz optimistic for the season.

"We're excited about the group coming in. We think they have an ambitious goal and we feel great about where their work ethic will take them this season," Blitz said.

Mizzou will take on 12 teams that advanced to the NCAA Championships, including 18 first-ever matchups. The Tiger home opener is set for Friday, Aug. 17 at 6:30 p.m. to host the University of Memphis at Walton Stadium.

Preseason practices put the Mizzou Soccer players to work, but their skill and energy never looked so good. Watch highlights from Day 1 of two-a-day practices.
