COLUMBIA, Mo. - The women's soccer program at Missouri is hard at work these days. With preseason practices beginning on Wednesday, August 4, the back-to-back Big 12 Champions start off with two-a-day practices to get ready for a preseason kickoff against the University of Illinois on Aug. 13. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

"This group has the opportunity to do some really impressive things," Blitz said. "We have strong leadership and a good foundation of players that know how to win. With our schedule, we will test our new group and expose any issues we may have before we get to conference play. We scheduled some tough opponents on the road that will help us on our quest to the NCAA Tournament."

Mizzou will face seven teams that qualified for the 2009 NCAA Tournament, including defending back-to-back national champion North Carolina. Conference play will begin on Sept. 24 when the Tigers host Kansas at Walton Stadium.
