Meet Paula Pritzen

July 30, 2010

Here's the latest entry! Paula Pritzen comes to Mizzou after attending Clemson University. She is a senior goalkeeper.

It's been a crazy month! I got to Columbia at the end of June, and jumped right into things. I started summer school and team training at the beginning of July. It has been really cool to see the differences and similarities between my old school, Clemson and Mizzou. The girls have been really great, and they have helped ease my transition.

One of the main differences between here and Clemson is the size of the town. Clemson is a relatively small college town, and by relatively small I mean two streets and a stoplight. Clemson makes Columbia look huge.

One of my favorite things about Mizzou so far is the athletic facilities. I have seen many great facilities through playing in the ACC the past couple years and Missouri's are definitely up there with the best. Another thing I am excited about is having the opportunity to play in the Big 12. I grew up watching teams like Texas A&M and UT, because I am from Houston, and I have always loved the dynamics and the competitiveness of this conference.

I think its awesome that the whole team comes in early to start training and working out together during the summer. It's helped bring the girls together on and off the field and it's given me a better chance to get to know all of the team. With preseason right around the corner I'm getting really excited for season. The team has been training so hard and we are all ready to start playing.
