COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou soccer team and Head Coach Bryan Blitz announced the addition of Rachel Hignett (Llandough, Wales) to the program's 2013 signing class. Hignett will enroll at the University of Missouri and join the Tiger program for the 2013 season.

"We are excited about Rachel joining our Mizzou Soccer Family and the international experience she will bring to the program," Blitz said.

Midfielder Hignett made her Welsh Senior National Team debut on Jan. 15, 2013, in a 3-0 win over Greece. She has been a fixture on Wales' U-17 and U-19 National Teams the past two seasons and captained the U-17 squad in 2012. Overall, she has four international caps with the Senior National Team, 19 with the U-19 squad and 12 with the U-17 team.

Hignett also plays for Bristol Academy WFC and was moved up to its first time in March 2013. She attended St. Cyres School in Penarth.

She will join the Tigers following the UEFA Women's U-19 Finals in mid-August.
