COLUMBIA, Mo. - Former Mizzou soccer standouts Dominique Richardson (Fullerton, Calif.) and Kat Tarr (Vancouver, Wash.) will make their National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) debuts on Saturday, April 12. Both were named to opening day rosters this week, Richardson with the Houston Dash and Tarr with the Portland Thorns. Missouri's two players on NWSL teams ranks third among the 14 Southeastern Conference programs.

"We're very proud of Domi and Kat," Mizzou Head Coach Bryan Blitz said. "It's an exciting time for both of them due to their hard work and talent, but they'll always credit their past teammates and staff for their success."

Richardson, who recently completed her Missouri career in 2013, was brought to the Dash as a trialist. She worked her way to the full roster after tallying a goal and two assists in exhibition matches with the squad in the preseason.

The Fullerton, Calif., native started all 82 games of her Tiger career, the most in program history. Over her four years, Richardson recorded 42 points on 17 goals and eight assists as she claimed 2012 All-SEC first team, 2011 All-Big 12 second team and 2010 Big 12 All-Newcomer Team honors.

Tarr, who played for Mizzou from 2005-08, spent the last four seasons playing in Germany for Frauen Bundesliga club SGS Essen, where she started 41 games in 43 appearances for SGS Essen. Following her Tiger career, Tarr was an eighth round selection by the Chicago Red Stars in the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) College Draft.

At Mizzou, Tarr played in 82 matches and earned 75 starts in the backfield in her four-year career. She earned All-Big 12 second team honors in 2007 after playing 1,927 minutes and tallying four goals as a defender. Tarr earned a spot on the 2008 Big 12 All-Tournament Team as the Tigers earned their first-ever conference title.

The former Tigers square off against each other in their respective team's 2014 season opener on Saturday, April 12 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
