Soccers Hosts Team Banquet

COLUMBIA, Mo - The University of Missouri women's soccer team held their annual team banquet on Saturday, Feb. 6, celebrating the 2009 fall season and the seven seniors on the squad.

The 2009 Tigers captured their second consecutive conference title, becoming the first program in Missouri history to repeat as Big 12 conference champions. Led by a senior class that compiled the best four-year winning percentage in program history, Missouri recorded the program's milestone 150th win in 2009. All 154 victories have come under head coach Bryan Blitz who was named Big 12 Coach of the Year for the second time following the 2009 season.

The team also announced their annual player awards at the banquet, with voting conducted by all members of the team and staff:

Michelle Collins, Most Valuable Player and Strength Award
Kristin Andrighetto, Offensive MVP
Crystal Wagner, Defensive MVP
Jessica Greer, Newcomer of the Year
Jessie Crabtree, Most Improved

In addition, strength and conditioning coach Bryan Mann announced Collins has been named an NSCA Strength and Conditioning All-American.

Distinguished alum Dr. Karen Bauer (2001-04), a two-time CoSIDA Academic-All American, served as the guest speaker for the event.
