Feb. 6, 2011

So here they are...the 2011 Mizzou Soccer Signing class! We are extremely excited about the amount of talent and enthusiasm this group brings to the family. There are nine in all - from Georgia to Washington, three from Missouri and an international player from Canada.

We will have one-on-one interviews with the new teammates when they arrive on campus next week for their official visits. Until then, read below for some info on this talented class.

"I knew I was going to Mizzou during my second visit. I stayed overnight with the girls and I felt like I was already a part of the team. I realized that on visits to other schools I compared everything to Mizzou."

"She is technically a very sound and competitive player. Above everything else. though, she is a calming influence and won't be upstaged with the big moment. A lot of our girls have stayed on the west coast for college so I think this is a great testament to Bryan and the Missouri program to attract a player like Abi." - Hubie Busby, Vancouver Whitecaps FC coach

Brittany Conley

"She is beyond excited to go. I'm from St. Louis originally so it's a little bit of a pride point for me. I think she is going to come in and contribute as a freshman. She has tremendous composure on the ball, she is a pure athlete and she is fast, strong and fearless." - Greg Blasingame, Concorde Fire coach

"The campus was a huge factor, I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. Also the team's connection with one another - it seemed as if they were all one big family including the coaches and everyone else involved in the program."

Taylor Grant

The Colony, TX (Dallas Texans)

• 2008 USYSA National Champion
• District 14-4A 1st Team
• First Team All District

"Everything just felt right at Mizzou. I liked the family type atmosphere amongst the girls and coaches. I also liked that Mizzou takes pride in having all its women's soccer players graduate and I look forward to getting my degree in education. I look forward to being a TIGER!!"

"She has a tremendous work rate. She plays with pace and is very fast - much like (current freshman and former club teammate) Alyssa Diggs. She has won a national championship, she is used to winning big games, and she expects to win. I tell my kids no matter what, Bryan will look after you as a person and not just as a soccer player. I have a tremendous respect for him because of that and I think that's why you are seeing his program grow to what it is today." - Ryan Higganbothan, club coach

"The first day I visited the University of Missouri and stayed with the team I knew it was where I was meant to go to school. The hard working mentality and strong bond the team shared was exactly what I had been looking for, and I'm so glad I found it at the University of Missouri."

Sydnie Green

Garden Grove, CA (Arsenal FC)

• 2010 All-CIF (California Interscholastic Federation)
• 2007 All-CIF

"I knew I wanted to come to Mizzou following my unofficial visit. I just felt like they wanted me to be there. The campus was amazing, the team welcomed me with open arms and the coaches really seemed excited about me being there."

"She is just a fantastic athlete. Very agressive on the ball. She is one of those kids that, as a marking back, she takes their stud forward and knocks her out the park." - Cle Kooiman, Arsenal FC coach

"Dan (club head coach) and I consider her one of the best athletes we have ever coached. She is incredibly strong on the ball and very skilled. She is a very strong leader and an absolute joy to coach. At the end of the day, that combination of pure athleticism and being a team player bodes very well for the Mizzou program." --Frank Gallo , Eastside Futbol Club coach

"Some of the most important factors that I had in mind while deciding on Mizzou, was the fact that I would still be able to play my favorite sport on a high competitive level. Though, the sport itself is important, being able to receive a paramount education at the same time was of the utmost importance. The team was very inviting, and the Coach was so kind; I felt so at home!"
