Columbia, Mo. – The No. 10 University of Missouri women’s soccer team received National Letters of Intent from nine student-athletes Wednesday, making the 2009 incoming class one of the largest in program history. Among the newcomers are two in-state products, Jessica Greer and Edith Lopez, and four signees from neighboring states in Kellie Gavigan, Kelsey Mulcahy, and Haley Krentz, all from Illinois, as well as Kansas native Molly Sylvester. Jessica Gwin (Indiana), Stephanie Gilbert (California), and Sarah Thune (Wisconsin) round out the Tigers’ freshmen class for the 2009 fall season.
“We are very excited about this class,” head coach Bryan Blitz said. “It addresses a lot of the needs we have through graduation and is a very well-rounded group that we expect to contribute to our program in many ways.”
