Edwards and Forst Honored at WIN Awards Luncheon

Columbia, Mo. - Two members of the University of Missouri women's soccer team; Associate Head Coach Amy Edwards, and goalkeeper/forward Mallory Forst attended the Women's Intersport Network (WIN) for Columbia Awards Luncheon Thursday Jan. 31. The luncheon celebrated outstanding female athletes in the Columbia area on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Edwards, a finalist for the Female Coach of the Year Award, has been on the Tiger sidelines since 2004, serving as assistant coach before being promoted to the associate head coach in December 2006. This season, the Tigers earned 13 victories and a berth in the NCAA tournament, where they advanced to the second round.

Forst, a finalist for the Collegiate Sportswoman of the Year Award, played 15 games in goal for the Tigers, finishing with a record of 7-5-1, including three shutout victories. She is tied for third among Mizzou's goalkeepers with seven career shutouts and 16 victories. At the end of the regular season, she was selected to the Academic All-Big 12 second team.

WIN for Columbia is an organization promoting the importance of participation of girls and women in athletic and physical fitness activities. WIN strives to increase the athletic opportunities for girls and women in the Columbia area, as well as recognize athletic achievement.
