Clark Called up to U-20 National Team

Freshman Kaysie Clark is spending her break at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California with the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team.

The camp kicks off the year for the team from January 5-19, which is highlighted by two 60-minute scrimmages against Shanghai Women's Football Club of China on Jan. 12 and Jan. 18. U.S.

Under-20s Head Coach Steve Swanson called up 30 of the top college age players for the event.

Clark, a Kansas City native, started every game of her freshman campaign for the Tigers tallying two goals, and five assist from here attacking center midfielder role.

This is not the first time for Clark to wear the national team jersey, as she has been called up on various occasions.

The U.S. U-20s are preparing for qualifying for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, which was slated for Uzbekistan, but will be moved by FIFA. A formal announcement of the new host country has not yet been made, but Japan is the front-runner. The CONCACAF Qualifying tournament, which will send three countries to the U-20 WWC, will be held from March 1-11 in Panama.
