ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - The Mizzou soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Arkansas Monday night in the first round of the 2013 SEC Tournament. The Tigers ended the season with an 8-9-3 record, while the Razorbacks improved to 13-7.

Missouri owned a 22-14 edge in shots and a 12-8 advantage in shots on goal but could not convert its chances.

The Razorbacks took an early 1-0 advantage just six minutes into the game. Arkansas' Hailey Pescatore played the ball to Ashleigh Ellenwood, who blasted a shot from just outside the left corner of the box that hit off the crossbar and fell into the back of the net.

Following Arkansas' goal, the Mizzou turned up the offensive pressure. Junior Taylor Grant and senior Dominique Richardson both fired off two shots but the attempts failed to find the net.

Arkansas added another tally in the 34th minute when Alexandra Fischer caught redshirt junior goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein off her line. Fischer sent a 35-yard blast on net that eluded Sauerwein for a 2-0 Razorback lead.

Mizzou's best chance of the first half came off the foot of freshman Lauren Selaiden. The midfielder ripped a shot from the right corner of the box but the attempt hit off the far post and was cleared by the Arkansas defense.

The Tiger offense came out of the break on the attack with shots from Grant, Richardson and sophomore Reagan Russell in the opening minutes but the lid remained on the goal for Missouri.

The Razorbacks notched another tally in the 61st minute for a 3-0 lead. Sauerwein went for a cross but it rolled in front of her. Claire Kelley was stationed by the far post and tucked a shot by redshirt sophomore Brittany Conley and into the net.

Arkansas added its final goal of the game in the 70th minute on a rebound after Sauerwein made an initial save.
