Los Angeles, Calif. - The University of Missouri women's soccer team (4-4-1) lost 5-0 at No. 4 UCLA (6-1-1) on Sunday in the UCLA Women's Cup. The host Bruins, 2008 College Cup finalists, were firing on all cylinders as they jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the first thirteen minutes and never looked back in a hard fought non-conference contest.

Coming off a 6-1 victory over Utah on Friday night, the Bruins offense picked up where it left off. UCLA sophomore striker Sydney Leroux opened the scoring in the second minute with her team-leading eighth goal in eight games this season. Six minutes later, redshirt senior Kara Lang headed in a free kick from the right side for her second goal of the tournament. In the 14th minute, senior forward Kristina Larsen added a third with a first-time volley, her first of two goals in the game. Bruins' junior Kylie Wright rounded out the first half scoring in the 32nd minute before the Bruins fifth and final score came from Larsen in the 63rd minute.

The Tigers created a handful of scoring chances of their own, totaling 12 shots in the game. The Tigers' came closest in the 12th minute when junior forward Alysha Bonnick received a through ball behind the UCLA defense. The Ontario, Canada native fired on frame but goalkeeper Chante' Sandiford made a diving save, one of seven on the day for UCLA goalkeepers.

Missouri senior goalkeeper Tasha Dittamore faced 17 shots in the match and made five saves against the potent UCLA attack. Dittamore, the reigning Big 12 defensive player of the week, leads the conference in saves this season with 38.

The physical match featured 22 total fouls and five cards handed out as the Bruins played shorthanded the final 32 minutes following Leroux's ejection for an off-the-ball offense.

Sunday's game completed a four-game road trip for Missouri as the Tigers return home on Friday, September 25th to complete their non-conference schedule against Northern Iowa at 6:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium.
