COLUMBIA, Mo. - Sophomore Dominique Richardson's lone second half goal combined with goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein's five saves lifted the Missouri soccer team to 1-0 upset over No. 7 Ohio State Friday night at Walton Stadium.

Richardson's game-winning goal came five minutes into the second half. Mizzou played a free kick into the Ohio State goal mouth that bounced around the box. The ball landed at the feet of Richardson, who unleashed a shot from the top of the box and past the Buckeye goalkeeper.

The shutout was the first of the season for the Tiger defense.

Missouri's win was the second in a row after last Sunday's 4-1 win against Eastern Illinois.

The loss was Ohio State's first of the season, as the Buckeyes entered this season on the heels of a co-Big Ten title and an NCAA College Cup appearance a year ago.

The Tigers continue the non-conference home stand on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. against the Purdue Boilermakers. The game will be streamed live on mutigers.com.
