CHAMPAIGN, ILL. - The Missouri Tigers braved the heat and humidity to tie Illinois, 2-2 in preseason action Friday afternoon in Champaign, Ill. Freshman forward Danielle Nottingham netted both Mizzou goals in the contest.

Freshman forward Danielle Nottingham set the precedent with a goal in the 13th minute, which was assisted by junior Kelsey Blincow. Goalkeeper Jessica Gwin held off the Illini until the 29th minute of the game.

With a 1-1 score to start off the second half, Nottingham notched the second goal of the game for the Tigers. Missouri stepped up its game to keep the ball in the middle of the field for most of the second half. The Illini found the net at the end of the second half making the score 2-2.

Freshmen Dominique Richardson, Alyssa Diggs and Danielle Nottingham all earned starting positions for the Tigers.

The Tigers start their regular season on Friday, August 20 with a home match against the Belmont Bruins. The game is set for 6:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium.
