The University of Missouri women's soccer team announced Shaunna Daugherty as an assistant coach for the Tigers on April 3, 2009. Daugherty helped coach the Tigers to their second-straight Big 12 Title in her first season at Mizzou. A 5-0 takedown of Nebraska clinched the Big 12 Regular Season title for the Tigers after the team took the Big 12 Championships in 2008.

Daugherty makes the move to Missouri from Illinois State University, where she was an assistant coach from 2006-08. Daugherty also coached at Elmhurst College, as well as at the high school, club and Olympic Development Program levels. She specializes in goalkeeper training, having been a four-year starter at Indiana University, and has completed the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advanced National Course in coaching.

"I am very excited to join the staff and program here at Mizzou," Daugherty said. "Everything about this program is top-notch from the facilities to the people in the athletic department to the girls on the team and in Coach Blitz. I would like to thank Bryan for this great opportunity and I am looking forward to contributing to the strong winning tradition that is Mizzou Soccer."
