Mizzou Gymnastics Hosts Black & Gold

COLUMBIA, MO. - With the start of gymnastics season just under a month away, the Missouri Gymnastics team is inviting fans to take a peek at the 2012 squad. Friday, Dec. 9, marks the annual Black & Gold Intrasquad Meet in the Hearnes Center at 7 p.m.

Admission to the Black and Gold meet is free and live scoring will be available on MUTigers.com and the team's Twitter page (@TigerGymnastics). The Mizzou gymnasts will also be signing autographs after the competition.

The meet will divide the team into two opposing squads, the Black and the Gold. The two teams will compete on each event together, in an alternating fashion. Representing the Black team will be, captain Mary Burke, Brittany Bendoff, Cathryn Aliceaacosta, Katelyn Trevino, Mackenzie McGill, Briana Conkle, and Laura Kappler. Allie Heizelman will serve as captain of the Gold team, whose members include Tori Howard, Sandra Ostad, Brittani Price, Taylor Medrea, Rachel Updike, Colleen Mulcahy and Rebecca Johnson.

The Tigers begin their regular season against Iowa State on Jan. 8. Mizzou will host the Cyclones in the Hearnes Center at 2 p.m. Fans can keep up with Mizzou Gymnastics on MUTigers.com and on the team's social media sites including Facebook and Twitter.
