Columbia, Mo.- The Mizzou Gymnastics team will open the season on Sunday (Dec. 9) with an exhibition contest at Lindenwood University. The event will be held in Hyland Arena, and it is free for all fans. Live scoring for the event will be provided on Lindenwood's athletics website as well, www.lindenwoodlions.com.

The exhibition contest will mark the first-ever gymnastics meet for the Lindenwood Lions as the school added its gymnastics program this year.

The meet will give Tiger fans a first-look at the 2013 squad, which consists of 12 returning letter winners and three newcomers. Also returning this season is All-American Rachel Updike, who will help lead the Tigers alongside seniors Tori Howard and Sandra Ostad and redshirt junior Brittany Bendoff.

Mizzou will begin its regular season on Jan. 11 when National Champion Alabama comes to the Hearnes Center for the annual Pink Out meet.
