Tiger Gymnastics Kick off 2008 Season with Black & Gold

Columbia, Mo. - Tiger gymnastics fans will get their first glimpse of the 2008 team Saturday, Dec. 8 when it will host its annual Black & Gold intrasquad meet at 7 p.m. in the Hearnes Center. With the roster split into two teams, each squad will alternate events, giving the Tigers a chance to practice their routines in front of a live audience in an environment similar to a real competition. Admission to the event is free. Live scores and video will be provided online.
The black squad is composed of a handful of returning letter winners along with three newcomers. Fans will see familiar faces including seniors Julie Abaray, Ashley Khederian, junior Alicia Hatcher and sophomore Liz Straatmann. The Black squad will feature three talented newcomers to the Tiger gym starting with sophomore Sarah Shire, a transfer from the University of Utah. Joining Shire for the first time will be freshmen Lauren Stephenson and Lisa LaPerriere.
The Gold squad, led by junior Adrianne Perry will offer some healthy competition to the Black squad. Perry will be joined by seniors Nikki Bowman and Lisa Puccio, sophomores Danielle Guider, Brooke Boehmer, Becky Scholle and Meghann Raub. Freshman Alex Gold rounds out the Gold roster.
