We had our first team intrasquad during practice this past Friday. I think it went really well overall. Everyone came to practice with a positive, energetic, and focused attitude. We did a fairly quick warm-up and then jumped right in.

We were split into two groups. The group I was in went to bars first and the other group went to beam. My group on bars did well. We made five out of six routines on the first round.

I started the bar line-up pretty shaky. I pulled in on my release move and one hand came off the bar and that mistake kind of threw off the rest of my routine. Honestly, it was a rough routine but I fought through it and did not fall. And we recovered very nicely after that.

The beam group did very well on their first round also. I don't think they fell once. Then we switched events. My group went beam and the other group went to bars. This first round was not quite as successful in terms of falls, but it was good in that on the second time through everyone did better and corrected all the little mistakes from the first round.

Everyone seemed to be nervous, for this intrasquad but no one lost their focus and everyone seemed to be in the game. We weren't perfect but at this point we shouldn't be. But we did a good job and we are looking stronger than ever for this time of year. If we keep on the right track with where we are headed we are going to be one scary team this year. The fire and drive has been building up for years now and it's about time that we Tigers get UNLEASHED!!!

GO TIGERS!!!
