Hey Tiger Fans!

We just finished another hard week at practice, and it's paying off. We are continuing to push each other and ourselves for the next two weeks before we go home for thanksgiving break. Last Friday we had our first of many beam inter-squads. We split up into two teams and showed off our beam routines to each other, and everyone looked great! Season is quickly approaching, so in the gym we are focusing more on the smaller details, such as hitting handstands, sticking landings on all events, being aggressive, and big finishes on our landings. The team continues to surprise me with all the improvements we are making.

This week was medium-high in conditioning, gymnastics and with our lifting and cardiovascular workouts with conditioning coach Tyler Looney. Coach Looney switched up some lifting exercises, and it's starting to pay off. We continue to lift two times a week and run three times a week. This year Coach Looney is trying something new where Friday's are fun days. So this Friday we played a team favorite called bamboozle, originally played in an episode of Friends. We split up into two teams, and in the middle is a net, or we use caution tape. A team will start with a medicine ball and throw it to the other team, and if they drop it the team that originally started with the ball gets a point. If they catch it, throw it back over and the other team drops it, the possession of the ball changes. It is really fun, and a team favorite!

Well, that's all for this week. Don't forget to come to our Black and Gold meet on December 11, and keep checking in for more updates!

GO TIGERS!
