Gymnastics Takes A Break From Training For Some Fall Fun

Nov. 3, 2006

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri women's gymnastics team took a break from preseason training recently kick back and enjoy a few fall customs.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, the Tigers took part in the nation's oldest homecoming by marching in Mizzou's annual Homecoming Parade. The squad is one of a few Missouri athletic teams who participate in the parade every year.

Assistant Coach Paul Scardina and his wife Traci hosted a pumpkin carving party on Sunday, Oct. 29 as a way to get the team in the Halloween spirit. The following day, the Tigers started practice with a Halloween costume contest. Junior Lisa Puccio, who dressed up as Scardina, won first prize from former Tiger and current team assistant Sarah Zigler.
