Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the new Mizzou Gymnastics and Golden Girls Practice Facility. The Department will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct. 21 beginning at 3 p.m.

The reception will be held at the Gymnastics and Golden Girls Practice Facility, located in Lot G, directly south of Memorial Stadium. A brief program is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. with a reception to follow.

The architectural firm, AECOM out of Kansas City, worked in conjunction with the University of Missouri to develop a state-of-the-art facility for the two teams to use. The facility totals over 27,000 square feet with 14,500 square feet dedicated to a gymnastics practice area and 3,000 square feet for the Golden Girls' dance floor. The building also houses offices for gymnastics and Golden Girls' staff, a lounge area for each squad, a training room with a cardio exercise area, Golden Girls wardrobe room and storage areas as well as two locker rooms with shower facilities.
