Missouri Gymnastics Announces Tentative 2007 Schedule

Schedule highlighted by seven regular and post season home meets

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Head Coach Rob Drass and the Missouri gymnastics team announced its tentative 2006 schedule on Thursday. The schedule is highlighted by the 27th Annual The Callaway Bank Cat Classic and includes seven regular season and post season home meets. The schedule also features meets against five teams that qualified for the 2006 NCAA National Championships.

After the intrasquad Black and Gold Meet on Saturday, Dec. 9, the Tigers kick of their 2007 schedule at the Cancun Classic on Friday, Jan. 5 in Cancun, Mexico. Missouri will be tested immediately as the squad faces top competition in Auburn, BYU and Iowa State.

Missouri opens the home portion of its schedule on Friday, Jan. 12 against Illinois, then travel to Norman, Okla., for a meet against Big 12 Conference opponent Oklahoma on Saturday, Jan. 20. On Friday, Jan. 26, the Tigers return to the Hearnes Center to face Iowa State and return to the road on Saturday, Feb. 3 for a meet against Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.

The Tigers host Southeast Missouri State and Centenary on consecutive weekends on Friday, Feb. 9 and Friday, Feb. 16 before the 27th Annual The Callaway Bank Cat Classic on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24 against Bowling Green, Illinois State and William & Mary.

On Saturday, March 3, Mizzou travels to Pittsbugh, Pa., for a meet against Pittsburgh and North Carolina. After closing the home portion of the regular season against Iowa on Friday, March 9, the Tigers close out the regular season with meets against Michigan on Friday, March 16 in Ann Arbor, Mich., and against Arkansas and Texas Women's on Saturday, March 24 in Fayetteville, Ark.

Missouri will host the 2007 Big 12 Championships against conference foes Iowa State, Nebraska and Oklahoma on Saturday, March 31.

All home meets are held in the Hearnes Center. Tickets can be purchased from the Missouri Athletic Ticket Office by calling 884-PAWS locally or 1-800-CAT-PAWS.
