COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri sophomore gymnast Adrianne Perry travels to Salt Lake City, Utah, to compete at the NCAA Championships at Utah's Huntsman Center on Thursday, April 26 at 8 p.m. CDT. After narrowly missing All-America accolades as a freshman last season, Perry looks to become the third gymnast in Tiger history to earn the honor.
Rotating with Stanford throughout the meet, Perry will begin the night on floor and then head to vault before a bye in the third rotation. She will then move to bars and will complete her competition on beam in the fifth rotation.
If Perry finishes among the top four individuals (including ties) on any event in her session on Thursday, she will qualify for the Individual Event Finals on Saturday, April 28 at 8 p.m. CDT. In 2005, Tiger Alisha Robinson became just the second Tiger to compete in the individual event finals as she earned her second career All-America distinction with a fifth place finish on vault.
Perry ranks 10th nationally in the all-around, 14th on vault, 30th on beam and 55th on bars. Among gymnasts in the session two, Perry stands fourth in the all-around, tied for fifth on beam, tied for sixth on vault, 12th on floor and 20th on bars. The top four gymnasts on each event earn first team All-America honors and finishers three through eight are named All-America second team.
