Columbia, Mo. - Junior Adrianne Perry (Columbia, Mo.) will look to make a statement this week as she will compete at the NCAA National Championships as an all-arounder on Thursday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m. (CDT). Perry will rotate with the University of Michigan, who is in the second session of the event. Looking to claim the schools first ever All-America honors in the all-around and first on any event since 2005, Perry has high expectations amidst a tough field of gymnasts.

Last season, Perry posted a 39.075, placing her 22nd overall, just six spots shy of making All-American. If Perry stays true to her RQS of 39.360, based on last years results, she would place 13th overall, good enough for second team All-America honors.

The Tigers have never had an All-American in the all-around and the last gymnast to earn All-America was Alisha Robinson, who did so on vault in 205. Before Robinson, the last All-America was Julie Dorn all the way back in 1990 when she earned the honors on vault and floor. Perry wil look to add her name to that short list this week.

Earlier this month, Perry became the schools first ever Conference All-Around Champion as she took home the Big 12 crown with a score of 39.375, just edging last years champ, Emily Parsons of Nebraska.

Perry, who has squared off against some of the top competition in the nation this season, should show little intimidation against the elite gymnasts on hand. In fact, during the regular season, including the Big 12 Championship, Perry compiled an 11-3-1 record against gymnasts that have qualified for the National Championship. Two of those 11 wins came against third-ranked Kiara Redmond-Sturms of Oklahoma as she topped her at the dual meet and at the Big 12 Championships. She has also topped the likes of Desire' Sniatynski of Nebraska, Ashley Jackson of Oklahoma, Lindsey Bruck and Sarah Curtis of Michigan all while winning the all-around title in six of her final seven regular season meets.

Perry's score of 39.300 at the Central Regional was also the fourth highest individual qualifying score behind only Julie Dwyer of Auburn, Emily Parsons of Nebraska and Brandi Personett of Penn St.

Perry owns season highs of 9.925 on both bars and floor while posting season bests of 9.900 on both beam and vault. Perry also earned a spot on the All-Big 12 first team on vault and was an Academic All-Big 12 first team selection as well as a member of the All-Big 12 Championship team on beam and floor. Perry was also the individual all-around and floor champ at the Big 12 Championship.

Last season, Perry finished 22nd overall with a 39.075 and will look to build upon that performance at this years championship. With her recent production against top competition, look for Perry to make her mark this season.
