Duluth, Ga. – Mizzou freshman Rachel Updike will compete as an individual at the NCAA National Championship tomorrow, April 20. Updike is schedule to compete in the second session, which begins at 5 p.m. CT. the Olathe, Kan., native will rotate with Ohio State, beginning with a bye before heading to the uneven bars.

Updike is the eighth gymnast in program history to qualify for the NCAA National Championships and has proved to be a strong asset to the team. She was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year for her performances during the 2012 season, and she was recognized as Big 12 Gymnast of the Week nine times throughout the course of the season. Updike was also named to the All-Big 12 Vault and Floor teams at the conclusion of the regular season.

The semifinal rounds of the championships will be live streamed on ncaa.com, and live scoring will be available at the following address: http://www.ramblinwreck.com/livestats/w-gym/session2.htm. The Individual event finals will be aired live on ESPN3 as well.
