COLUMBIA, Mo.--Mizzou Gymnastics has moved up four spots to No. 13 in the GymInfo National Top 25 Rankings this week. The improvement comes after the Tigers earned a 196.250-193.825 victory over Bowling Green State on Feb. 24.
The rankings are now based on Regional Qualifying Average, which determines a team's qualification for the NCAA regional competition. It is calculated through a compilation of a team's and an all-around competitor's six best regular-season-meet scores, of which three must be away. To obtain the final number, the high score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged.
At No. 13 in the nation, the Tigers boast an RQS of 195.790 and a season average of 195.341. The Tigers earned their season-high score of 196.375 against Oklahoma on Feb. 17. Missouri is also ranked No.13 on the vault with a vault RQS of 49.070. The Tigers sit in a tie for 15th on the uneven bars with Penn State and LSU, and the team is also in a tie for No. 16 in the nation on the balance beam. On the floor exercise, Mizzou comes in at No. 16 as well, with an RQS of 48.975.
