Mizzou ranked No. 10 after opening weekend

After Missouri's dominating 195.050 to 193.175 victory over Iowa State this past weekend, the Tigers have been recognized as the No. 10 team in the country.
The top 10 designation is the highest in program history that Missouri has been ranked after opening weekend, and it is the highest overall since the 2006 season when the
Tigers were ranked as high as No. 7.
Tiger individuals also made a splash in the top 25 individual rankings. Junior Sarah Shire (Columbia, Mo.) is ranked No. 5 in the nation after posting a knockout 39.350 against the Cyclones. Senior Adrianne Perry (Columbia, Mo.) joins her in the poll at No. 14 with a 39.175 this past weekend.
Shire is also tied for the top spot on the balance beam with a 9.900 on the event last Friday, and is at the No. 8 spot for vault with a score of 9.875. Teammate and senior Alicia Hatcher comes in at No. 13 on the beam list after scoring a 9.850, and is No. 21 in the uneven bars rankings with a 9.825. Perry is also tied for seventh place in the country on the floor exercise with an opening-weekend score of 9.875, and is No. 24 on the beam list with a 9.825.
Missouri is the second-highest team in the Big 12 conference -- Oklahoma just edged the Tigers by a quarter of a point to take the No. 9 spot. Nebraska slipped five spots to No. 16 after falling to then-No. 14 Denver, 194.125-194.350.
Missouri is also ranked No. 4 on floor, No. 10 on vault, No. 13 on bars and No. 16 on beam.
