AMES, Iowa - The No. 20 Missouri gymnastics team nabbed a new season-high but fell to the No.11 Iowa State Cyclones195.725-195.025 Friday night in Ames, Iowa. In the all-around competition, sophomore Adrianne Perry scored a 39.300 to tie her career-high finish 25 hundredths of a point behind winner Janet Anson of Iowa State.

"We came away tonight with a good road score, which was important for seeding down the line," Missouri Head Coach Rob Drass said. "I thought we were great on three events tonight. Beam was solid but it wasn't spectacular. The routines we counted we did a really good job. To me we're still a little tentative on beam, we're not as aggressive as I'd like us to be, which comes with confidence. Once we hit beam routine after beam routine, we'll become confident and it will pay dividends in the future."

The Tigers got off to a great start in the first rotation with a season-high 48.950 to take over a three-tenth advantage into vault. On bars, sophomore Alicia Hatcher scored a 9.825 for the second week in a row to led Mizzou. Three Tigers, junior Julie Abaray, sophomore Adrianne Perry and freshman Becky Scholle, all notched 9.800s as well. The score set a new career-high for Scholle and tied Abaray's personal best.

Moving next to vault, the squad's strongest event, Mizzou posted a 48.775 to hold a half-tenth advantage after two rotations. Perry paced the Tigers with a 9.825 while senior Amanda Pezzullo scored a 9.800 and junior Ashley Khederian notched a 9.775.

In the third rotation, the Tigers again recorded a season-high with a 48.950 on floor. Perry notched a 9.850 to take second place and Pezzullo scored a 9.825 for the third week in a row. Additionally, Abaray and freshman Danielle Guider posted 9.775s.

Trailing the Cyclones by just over a tenth of a point entering the fourth and final rotation, Mizzou struggled on the balance beam to post a 48.350. Perry led the Tigers again with a 9.825 while Abaray nabbed a 9.800.

On Friday, Feb. 9, the Tigers join with the No. 2 Mizzou wrestling squad as the two teams host the first annual Beauty and the Beast at 7 p.m. CT. Competing simultaneously on the Hearnes Center floor, the gymnasts compete against Southeast Missouri State while the wrestlers take on Northern Iowa.
