Terri Baker trades rank in the competitive lineup to join the 2003 Missouri coaching staff as a first-year student assistant coach. After taking a medical redshirt to recuperate from a knee injury sustained during her freshman season, Baker made her way back into the Mizzou beam lineup last year. Tragedy struck the young athlete again as she again sustained a knee, this time halting her career.
Unwilling to leave gymnastics behind, Baker spent the remainder of the 2002 season assisting the Tiger floor and beam squads fine-tune their skills for tournament competition. This year, she looks to advance her influence in the training gym.
The Troy, Mo., native is a nutrition and fitness major preparing to graduate at the conclusion of the 2003 Winter Semester.
