Freshman (2002):
Ashley Asraf brought depth to three Missouri events last season as a vault, beam and floor contender … putting up solid marks on the vault, Asraf scored a career-high 9.825 against Texas Woman’s en route to helping Mizzou to an all-time 49.150 vault record … she finished third in the event against the Pioneers and also stepped in as the meet’s second-place beam and floor competitor scoring a 9.850 and a 9.825, respectively … she scored a 9.850 on beam three times during the 2002 season to establish her career high on the apparatus … scoring a 9.800 or above in eight of 14 meets, including her last five consecutive meets, she recorded a career high 9.875 three times as a freshman … rounded out her inaugural year with a 17th-place finish on the floor at the North Central Regional.

Club/High School:
Trained at the Worldwide Gymnastics in Old Bridge, N.J., under coach Bruce Petty … finished first in state on the floor and vault in 2001 representing Tom’s Rivers High School North … placed third on the vault and the USAG Level 10 National competition … also placed 12 in the floor exercise … helped Tom’s River to undefeated seasons as a freshman, sophomore and senior … led World Wide Gymnastics club team to a third-place finish at the New Jersey State Championship … was an two-year honor roll student as a freshman and junior.

Ashley is the daughter of Cindy Asraf … born Sept. 12, 1983 … intended major is communications with a desire to pursue a broadcast journalism degree ... enjoys the college experience, hanging out with friends, listening to music and reading.
