Mizzou sophomore Julia Potter has been selected the Big 12 Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for October, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. In Mizzou's four October tournaments, Potter claimed three top-five finishes and won two of the events.

Potter won the Marilyn Smith Sunflower Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. to open the month, claiming her first career title. She opened the tournament with a two-under-par 70 and followed with a 73 in round two before the final round was cancelled due to rain.

The following week, Potter was medalist at the Johnie Imes Invitational, finishing eight shots ahead of second place. After opening with rounds of 73 and 75, Potter carded a six-under-par 66 in the final round. The 66 matched a school record, as did her three-round total of 214. She made three-straight birdies on holes 10-12 and birdied five holes on the back nine on her way to a 31. Potter was named the GolfWeek Player of the Week after that performance.

She continued her strong play by claiming a third-straight top-five finish by placing fourth at the Price's Give'em Five Intercollegiate with rounds of 72, 75 and 75. She closed out the month with a 23rd place finish at the Las Vegas Showdown, which included a two-under-par 70 in the first round.
