Potter Advances to Second Round of TRANS Amateur

Mizzou's Julia Potter advanced to the round of 32 at the 79th Annual Women's TRANS National Golf Association Amateur Championship in Loudon, Tenn.

Potter advanced to the match play competition after she tied for 11th in the stroke play qualifying with rounds of 15 and 71. She won her first round match, defeating Rebecca Durham 3&2, before being edged out in her second round match to Whitney Hillier in a 21-hole match.

So far this summer, Potter has won the Indiana Match Play title and took second place at the Indiana State Amateur. Potter also advanced to the Sectional Qualifier of the United States Open.

Potter, who will be a senior on the Tigers' women's golf team this fall, qualified for the NCAA Regional last season as an individual, recording a 23rd place finish.
