Golfer Julia Potter Takes Second At Indiana State Open

Senior-to-be Is An Alternate For Next Week's U.S. Women's Open

Franklin, Ind.  –  University of Missouri women’s golfer Julia Potter (Granger, Ind.), finished tied for second place at the Pepsi Indiana Women’s Open that was held June 29-30 at the Legends of Indiana Golf Club.

 

Potter shot rounds 75 and even-par 72, to finish with a two-day total of three-over par 147 to tie for second with Jutnhima Gulyanamitta, who plays collegiately for Purdue.  Michigan State’s Aimee Neff won the tournament with a one-under par 143 total, thanks in large part to a one-under 71 on day one.

 

Potter, who earlier in June won the Indiana Match Play Championship, also earlier just missed qualifying for the U.S. Women’s Open, which is slated for July 9-12 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.  She is currently a second alternate for the Open, and is hoping to receive a phone call from the USGA to come to the tournament.


 

 

 

Regardless, Potter’s summer will continue to be busy with lots of golf, as she is scheduled to defend her Indiana State Amateur title on July 13-15 at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ind.  Potter will be a senior on Head Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer’s 2009-10 squad this coming year.

 

Potter, Schriewer Tied for 51st at Duramed Futures Qualifying

Mizzou senior Julia Potter and former Tigers Chelsea Schriewer are among a group tied for 51st place after three rounds of play at the Duramed Futures Tour Qualifying Tournament. Both have three-round scores of 221.

Lovelock Leads Tigers in Fall Finale

The Mizzou women's golf team concluded its 2009 fall season on Tuesday, finishing 20th at the Challenge at Onion Creek. Sophomore Hannah Lovelock led the Tigers with a 19th place finish individually at Onion Creek Golf Club in Austin, Texas.

The Mizzou women's golf team will have some work to do on day two of the Challenge at Onion Creek in Austin, Texas. The Tigers stand in 21st place as round two was suspended on Monday due to darkness. The Tigers shot a 313 in the first round and all five of the MU golfers have between two and four holes to play in the second round, which will conclude on Tuesday morning.

Women's Golf Presents Check to Komen Foundation

The Mizzou women's golf team raised $6,650 as part of "Birdies for A Cure" that was held in conjuction with the 2009 Johnie Imes Invitational. On Wednesday, the Tigers presented a check to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at the foundation's Board Meeting.

Missouri Concludes Play at Vegas Collegiate

Sophomore Hannah Lovelock and junior Nicola Race led the Mizzou women's golf team in the final round of the Las Vegas Collegiate on Wednesday, as each carded rounds of 77 on a rainy and windy day at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
