Womens Golf Ready for SEC Tournament

Birmingham, Ala. -Missouri Women's Golf will make its inaugural appearance at the 2013 SEC Championship on Friday, April 19. The three-day tournament is set to be held at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. Teams will play the Founders Course; a par 72, 6401-yard course.

The 54-hole tournament will kick off at 8 a.m. Friday. The Tigers will begin on hole 10 at 8:32 a.m. with tee times continuing until 9:12. Saturday and Sunday's rounds will start at 8 a.m. as well. Katherine Hepler, Laura Kraft, Michelle Butler, Taylor Gohn and Alina Rogers will compete for the Tigers at the tournament.

As a team, Missouri has earned eight top-10 finishes this year, including three consecutive second place finishes this fall. Missouri's current lineup has racked up a total of 12 top-10 individual finishes this year as well. Most recently, sophomore Alina Rogers finishes eighth overall at the M&F Bank Rebel Intercollegiate, leading the Tigers to a 10th place team finish.

Missouri will look for an upset this weekend as 12 Southeastern Conference schools are ranked in the top 50, including No. 1 Alabama, No. 7 Florida, No. 9 Arkansas, No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 22 Texas A&M, No. 26 Georgia, No. 27 LSU, No. 32 Tennessee, No. 35 South Carolina, No. 46 Kentucky, No. 49 Mississippi State and No. 50 Ole Miss.
