Missouri junior golfer Julia Potter was named the Collegiate Sportswoman of the Year at the Women's Intersport Network for Columbia (WIN) Luncheon on Tuesday.

WIN for Columbia is an organization promoting the importance of participation of girls and women in athletic and physical fitness activities. WIN strives to increase the athletic opportunities for girls and women in the Columbia area, as well as recognize athletic achievements.

Potter claimed three top-five finishes last fall for Mizzou and in October won the Johnie Imes Invitational for the second-straight season. She earned GolfWeek Player of the Week after her victory at the Imes. Last summer, Potter won the Indiana Women's State Amateur last summer and was named the Indiana Women's Golf Association Player of the Year. She advanced to the round of 32 at the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in August.

Last spring, Potter finished in the top-15 in six of seven spring tournaments and placed sixth at the Big 12 Championships, earning All-Big 12 First Team honors. She finished the season with a 10th place finish at the NCAA Regionals.

Former MU swimmer Kim Martin, who is now the Director of Life Skills at Mizzou, was nominated for the WIN Mentor of the Year. Megan Pittman, a member of the Compliance staff at MU and an assistant coach for the Columbia Swim Club, was a nominee for the WIN Coach of the Year.
