CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Tigers continued play at the 11th Annual Cougar Classic today, led by sophomore Katherine Hepler and again senior Taylor Gohn. Hepler finished the day at even par (72) while Gohn was just 2-over (74). Clemson leads the tournament after two rounds with a score 9-under par followed by Mississippi State who sits at 3-under. Rounding out the top three, NC State and College of Charleston both sit 2-under par. Mizzou is currently sitting in 15th overall, up one spot after the second round. The Tigers are 28-over par after going 302-302--604 through two rounds.

With three consecutive birdies and an eagle on the back nine at Yeaman Halls Club, Hepler finished the day with an even 72 to keep her overall score at just 5-over par. She is currently tied for 45th overall in the tournament after finishing the first round in 76th place.

After firing a first round 72, Gohn followed up today with a 2-over par 74. Starting the day on the first hole, Gohn started the day 1-under after sinking a birdie on the second hole and improved to 2-under par after she added another on the 10th hole. Four bogeys on the back nine caused some difficulty, but she remains in the top 30 individually as she is currently tied for 29th in the tournament.

Junior Alina Rogers has remained consistent throughout the tournament, posting scores of 3-over par and 4-over par in the first and second rounds. Sophomores Haelena Schwemmer and Michelle Butler also competed for the Tigers, closing the day 8-over par and 12-over par, respectively.

The Cougar Classic is a competitive field, consisting of 20 total teams, seven of which are ranked in the Golfweek Women's Preseason Top 30. The final round will be played Wednesday, Sept. 10, beginning with two groups of shotgun starts. Groups `A' will tee off at 8:50 a.m. and groups `B' will begin at 9 a.m. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com also.
