Birmingham, Ala. -Freshman Jess Meek tied for 10th overall at the 2014 SEC Women's Golf Championships at Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. on Sunday, April 20. Meek led the Tigers with a score just 2-over par to finish 6-over par through three rounds. The freshman from Carnoustie, Scotland led the Tigers to a 10th place finish as a team, tying with Florida to finish 49-over par in the tournament. Vanderbilt (+15) maintained the lead to take first overall, followed by South Carolina (+26) and Arkansas (+28).

"This morning was very difficult start for us," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "The wind as really up and we struggled on homes three, eight and nine. We had a solid back nine and brought it back, but we really didn't take advantage of our opportunities today. Taylor {Gohn} had a great finish and I'm proud of her for fighting hard. Jess settled in to her game after six holes and had a couple of nice birdies oat the end of her round. On 18, she almost holed out for eagle."

Meek's top-10 finish at the conference tournament marks Missouri's first individual top-10 finish at the SEC Championships and the first for a Tiger since Taylor Gohn placed ninth at the 2011 Big 12 Championships.

Finishing the day 6-over par, redshirt sophomore Michelle Butler tied for 35th overall with teammate Gohn who shot 4-over par in the third round. The two finished the tournament 14-over par.

Junior Alina Rogers finished just two strokes behind as she took 44th overall with a score 16-over par. Fellow junior Laura Kraft tied for 64th in the tournament as she shot 22-over par through three rounds of play.
