Birmingham, Ala. - Led by freshman Jess Meek, Mizzou Women's Golf is maintaining its top 10 position at the 2014 SEC Women's Golf Championships. The Tigers shot 303 as a team to sit 30-over par through two rounds of play. Meek shot just 1-over par in the second round to hold on to a top-15 position. Vanderbilt (+9) leads the championship followed by Arkansas (+15) and LSU (+16).

"We had a real nice start on the front side this morning and we let a few shots go at our finish today," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "However, I am really pleased with the growth of this team from last year to this year. We are playing with a great sense of confidence and our short games have developed a lot this year. Jess Meek had a tremendous finish for us today and senior Taylor Gohn was very solid with hitting her targets and giving herself a lot of opportunities for birdies. We will have a good mindset heading into the final round."

Meek sunk two birdies in the final three holes for a strong finish in the round. Not far behind is redshirt sophomore Michelle Butler who is tied for 30th overall with teammate Alina Rogers. The two sit 8-over par through two rounds of play.

Senior Taylor Gohn, who finished the day 4-over par, sits at 39th overall in the tournament, followed by junior Laura Kraft who comes in at No. 62 individually.
