Columbia, Mo. – The University of Missouri Women’s Basketball program and Head Coach Robin Pingeton welcome an impressive recruiting class with five new members to the team for the 2012-13 season. The signing class includes Lianna Doty, Michelle Hudyn, Maddie Stock, Morgan Stock who submitted their national letter of intent along with Lindsey Cunningham, who has signed a letter of commitment to the program.
"We are extremely excited to welcome these five young ladies into our family," Pingeton said. "They will make an immediate and positive impact on and off the court. They understand our vision and expectations of this program and are very excited to help build this program into something very special."
Lianna Doty // 5-5 // St. Louis, Mo. (Kirkwood High School)
Lianna Doty is a three year First Team All-Conference Selection and earned Class 5 District 6 First Team All-District Basketball Team Honors. Last season Doty averaged a team-high 12.7 points per game, 4.7 assists, 3.9 steals and 3.9 rebounds. She earned First-Team All-Tournament Peach State Elite 32 Basketball honors and received the Larry Hughes All-Star Athletic Award. Doty currently maintains a 4.0 GPA.
Michelle Hudyn // 6-2 // Kitchener, Ontario (Eastwood Colligate)
Michelle Hudyn is a four-year starter at Eastwood Colligate. She is currently competing in her basketball season and is averaging 25.6 points and 10 rebounds per game. Hudyn has been selected as the top female athlete of the year at her school for two consecutive years, and she has also earned First-team All-Star honors in her school league. Hudyn is also the first female to play senior boys high school basketball in her district. She was selected to play for the Ontario U17 Provincial team and contributed to a second place finish at the National Championships. The three-year basketball team MVP has maintained a grade point average above 4.0 for the past three years to earn a spot on the honor roll.
Maddie Stock // 6-0 // Town & Country, Mo. (St. Joseph’s Academy)
Maddie Stock is a three-year All-State, All-Conference and All-District athlete. Stock has been a varsity starter since her freshmen year and has helped her team win two district championships and advanced to the state semi-finals her junior season. Last season she led the Angels with over 17 points per game while shooting over 37% from 3-point range with 90 made 3-point fields goals. She also led the team in steals with over four per game and averaged 3.86 assists per game. She currently maintains a 3.87 GPA.
Morgan Stock // 6-0 // Town & Country, Mo. (St. Joseph’s Academy)
Morgan Stock plays with her twin sister, Maddie, and is a three-year All-Conference and All-District Athlete. Stock has also earned All-State honors in her sophomore and junior seasons. She has been a varsity starter since her freshmen year and has helped her team win two district championships and advanced to the state semi-finals her junior season. Last season she averaged 10 points per game and 5.9 rebounds. She currently maintains a 3.76 GPA.
Lindsey Cunningham // 5-11 // Columbia, Mo. (Rock Bridge High School)
A Columbia, Mo. native, Lindsey Cunningham will stay close to home to play for the Tigers. She is a two-time All-District basketball player as well as a 2011 Columbia Tribune All-Area Team honoree and MVP. In the 2010-11 Season, Cunningham led her team in steals, assists, points and free throw percentage as she earned the title of co-captain and MVP. Lindsey also earned the Heart of a Bruin Award for her efforts. Cunningham was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2010 and she earned the 3-Point percentage award as well. She earned First-Team MBCA All-State honors last season and was named to the AP All-State Second Team. Cunningham is active off the court as well as she has held the position of Student Council Class Secretary for the past three years. She currently maintains a 3.58 GPA.
