COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Big 12 Conference announced its tentative 2009-10 women's basketball schedule on Tuesday. Missouri's league schedule includes eight home contests at Mizzou Arena and games against six 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifiers and three 2009 WNIT participants.
The Tigers open league action on the road at Colorado on Saturday, Jan. 9 before opening Big 12 home play on Wednesday, Jan. 13 in a contest against 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifier Kansas State. Missouri then travels to Lawrence, Kan., in a Border Showdown matchup with Kansas on Sunday, Jan. 17.
Missouri hosts 2009 Final Four participant Oklahoma on Wednesday, Jan. 20 and 2008-09 Big 12 Champion Baylor on Saturday, Jan. 23 then hits the road for a contest at Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
The second installment of the Border Showdown is slated for Saturday, Jan. 30 at Mizzou Arena. The Tigers then travel to College Station, Texas, to face Texas A&M, who qualified for last year's Sweet 16, on Wednesday, Feb. 3 and return home on Saturday, Feb. 6 for a game against 2009 NCAA Elite Eight participant Iowa State.
Mizzou travels to Manhattan, Kan., for a rematch with Kansas State on Wednesday, Feb. 10 and returns home to host Nebraska on Saturday, Feb. 13.
Following a bye-week, Missouri hits the road on Saturday, Feb. 20 for a game at Iowa State before a home contest against Colorado on Wednesday, Feb. 23. Two consecutive away matchups against Nebraska and 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifier Texas on Saturday, Feb. 27 and Wednesday, March 3 conclude the road portion of the schedule. The Tigers close out regular season play at home on Sunday, March 7 against Texas Tech.
All times and dates for the Big 12 women's schedule are subject to change. No television coverage has been determined for any women's basketball games at this time. The Big 12 is expected to announce its national television package with its partners in mid- to late-August.
