This summer we are excited to spotlight some of the folks who contribute to our program off the court. Each Tuesday this summer you will get to meet a special individual who makes a big difference to the Mizzou Women's Basketball Program!

NAME
Toni Hayes
POSITION

Executive Assistant

WHAT ARE YOUR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GAMEDAY RESPONSIBILITIES?

My favorite game day duty is to check-in the Tiger Paws members for the lineup tunnel. I absolutely love all the kids and we usually have some sort of prop for them wear. They’re adorable! I love assisting with Alumni Day; it’s always so nice to see everyone. And of course post-game receptions! But it’s my pleasure to do whatever is needed.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH MIZZOU WOMEN'S BASKETBALL?

I know it’s cliché to say it’s the people, but in all honesty it really is. We have a very hard-working dedicated staff that believe in doing everything the right way. There is so much respect between us all and it really makes it more than just a job. It’s my home.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MIZZOU WOMEN'S BASKETBALL MEMORY?

Fourteen years is too long to have a single favorite memory, therefore I have four: Beating Georgia at Georgia to advance to the Sweet 16 in 2001, beating Baylor at home in the Big 12 opener in 2006, going to Cancun, Mexico in 2012 and beating Tennessee at home in 2013.

WHEN YOU'RE NOT SUPPORTING MIZZOU WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?

I have two awesome kids! John is 22 and works for the Columbia Police Dept. Michaela is 16 and attends Hickman High School.  They are my two favorite people in the world. Hanging out and having dinner with my large group of family and friends. I bowl in the MU Faculty, Staff & Friends League on Sunday nights. I’m always ready to see a movie and Netflix is one of my best friends…

WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT SEASON?

Hawaii; Getting to know the new players; Hawaii; Growing as a staff and team; Hawaii; Finishing strong in the SEC; Hawaii; Making the NCAA Tournament; Hawaii and Hawaii. Any championship would be fine too…
