COLUMBIA, Mo—Missouri Women’s Basketball will continue its season this week as the Tigers have been selected to participate in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), as announced by the tournament organizers late Monday night.

Missouri, 17-14 overall, will face Eastern Illinois in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday, March 20 with the time to be announced. The game will be held at Mizzou Arena.

This marks the fifth WNIT appearance for Missouri, and the first postseason appearance for the Tigers since the 2006-07 season when Mizzou advanced to the second round of the WNIT. This is the first post season appearance at Mizzou for head Coach Robin Pingeton, and the 11th in her career. The Tigers are 3-4 all-time at the WNIT, and all three wins have come on the Tigers’ home court.

Tickets for the 2013 WNIT First Round contest can be purchased here beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19. Tickets will also be available by phone (1-800-CAT PAWS) or in person at the Mizzou Arena Ticket office. General admission tickets will be sold for $6, and children/student tickets can be purchased for $4. Fans can also log on to MizzouGameday.com for information on game day parking.

This year’s WNIT field consists of 31 teams that earned an automatic berth, and 33 teams chosen at-large.
