Tigers Fall To Sooners in Quarterfinal Round

Kansas City, Mo-The Missouri Women's basketball team has been eliminated from the Phillips 66 Big 12 tournament, falling to the Oklahoma Sooners 59-70. The Tigers fall to 13-18 on the season, and the Sooners will continue on to the Semifinal round.

Despite the loss, Morgan Eye is now third on Missouri's all-time 3-pointers made list with 63 3-pointers made this season. Chrisitne Flores also had a team high 18 points to finish with 26 double figure scoring outings on the season and 63 in her Tiger career.

Led by a three from Morgan Eye, Mizzou started off the game on an 8-0 run to gain an early advantage over the Sooners. Oklahoma got on the board at the 16:53 mark with a basket by Whitney Hand, but the Sooners were not able to catch up. Missouri's defense held Oklahoma to just 25.7 percent from the field in the first half as the Sooners hit 9-of-35 field goal attempts from the floor. Mizzou went 6-for-14 from behind the arc in the first half to go into the locker room with a 10-point lead. At the half Missouri was leading Oklahoma 33-23.

The Tigers saw their 10 point lead evaporate in the second half after the Sooners went on a 15-2 run. The run was stopped by two free throws from senior Christine Flores to bring the Tigers within, one point, 37-38, with 11:58 in the game. However, Missouri could never regain the lead and fell to the Oklahoma Sooners 59-70.
