Brown Earns All-Big 12 Honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri women's basketball senior RaeShara Brown was named to the All-Big 12 Conference second team, announced today by the league office.

Brown finished the regular season with averages of 16.8 ppg., 5.9 rpg. 4.4 apg. and 2.6 spg. in 37.2 mpg. Overall, she ranks second in steals, second in minutes, sixth in assists, ninth in scoring, 12th in 3-pointers made and 13th in defensive rebounds in the Big 12. Additionally, she has reached in double figures in points in 27 of Mizzou's 30 games this year and scored at least 20 points eight times..

The Little Rock, Ark., native is Missouri's all-time steals leader with 270 and ranks fourth in the Tiger record books with 330 assists. In the regular season finale against Iowa State on March 5, Brown became the 29th player in Mizzou history to score 1,000 points.

Brown's all-conference honor is the first time since the 2006-07 season that at Missouri player was named to either the first or second team, when EeTisha Riddle earned a spot on the first team.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, March 8 in the first round of the 2011 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Kansas City. The No. 10 seed, Mizzou will square off against seventh-seeded Texas at 5 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium.
