Head Coach Robin Pingeton
"I thought we shot the ball extremely well tonight and obviously we have got a lot of work to do with taking care of the ball. The first half I could deal with some of the turnovers we had, we just hadn't practiced against that kind of 2-1-2 half court defensive pressure. In film we hadn't seen them play that a lot and so it was something a little bit new to our players. I thought as the first half went on we adjusted nicely. So I understood some of those turnovers, in the second half we came back and had eight or nine, but a lot of positives offensively. Defensively we gotta continue to get better, it's a mentality. We gotta do a better job containing dribble drive, our rotations and our box outs and so that is going to be a point of emphasis as we continue to move forward."
On gaining momentum after the first loss...
"We had a long film session actually and Miami is a good team. We just talked about how winning is tough and winning on the road is really tough. Although we had adversity on the road and got into foul trouble early, we didn't control what we needed to control in order to win a game on the road against Miami, a program that's been to the tournament the last couple years."
On the team's defense...
"Typically they aren't a team that has shot a lot of threes, but overall I was impressed. My biggest concerns were our ability to contain off the bounce, our rotations defensively, communication on some screen action, not allowing second shot opportunities."
On development of young players...
"We see a lot of different rotations in games that we may not get to in practices and we (coaches) have got to do a better job with that, mixing and matching a little bit more in practice so there is more of a comfort level. Overall getting the opportunity to play with each other and feeling comfortable with pace of the game and terminology all that is such a big learning curve for your young players. This is an experience we can just build on."
Sophomore Morgan Stock
On being competitive with twin sister Maddie...
"We definitely build off of each other. We always have. If she's having a really good game, I can build off her confidence and she builds off mine so it's really fun to play with her. I enjoy it."
On breaking out of her previous outside shooting slump...
"I've been working on my shot a lot, but I also have got to give credit to my teammates. They're hitting open shots left me open and I was like, `I'm just going to knock down my shots for my team today' so, I did it."
Junior Morgan Eye
On Missouri's hot shooting from the three...
"I think we definitely feed off each other and we were kind of talking, we were kind of wondering why this team was playing zone on us `cause we kind of liked it. We were getting open looks all night, and we were hitting them."
On how important this win is after a loss to Miami...
"I think it says a lot about our team. I mean, we had a long film session watching Miami and we knew the things we needed to work on and just to be able to take the challenges that we needed to and apply it to the game today and just see that we still have a lot of work to do. Even from this game, you know, turnovers and stuff like that, but it was a good win for our team coming off of a loss."
