Omaha, Neb. -Mizzou overcame a 12 point deficit for a halftime lead, but the Tigers weren't able to stay ahead as Mizzou fell to Creighton, 77-51, in the first round of the WNIT on Thursday, March 20. The Tigers will close the season 17-14 overall, marking the second consecutive winning season for the Tigers under head coach Robin Pingeton.

Sophomore Lianna Doty led the Tigers with 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting on the night, and senior Bri Kulas also finished in double figures with 11 points. Kulas will finish her Mizzou career with 49 double figure scoring games and 1,008 points in just two years.

Mizzou got off to a slow start in the first half, allowing the Bluejays to pull ahead by 12 points early on. The Tigers wouldn't let it last, however, as Mizzou overcame the deficit to take a 32-31 lead into the locker room at halftime. Jordan Frericks beat the buzzer with a last-second layup for the lead. Doty led the Tigers in the first half with seven points, and Kulas was right behind with six of her own.

Sophomore Michelle Hudyn helped light a fire under the Tigers as she knocked down just her second three-pointer of the season in the first half of play. The Tigers forced nine Bluejay turnovers in the half, while only committing one and assisting on over half of the team's first-half field goals.

The Tigers came out strong in the second half, but a 9-0 Creighton run put the Bluejays on top for good. The Tigers held the Jays to just 20-percent shooting from three in the second half, allowing just one three from the team.
