LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Missouri women's basketball team suffered a 76-34 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers Tuesday night in Lincoln, Neb. The loss dropped the Tigers to 12-15 overall and 4-9 in Big 12 Conference play, while the Huskers improved to 13-14 and 3-10.

Senior RaeShara Brown and sophomore Trenee Thornton led the Tigers with nine points apiece. Sophomore Sydney Crafton grabbed a team high seven rebounds.

The Huskers posted the first seven points of the game and increased their lead to 15-5 after Adrianna Maurer hit a layup with 9:55 remaining in the first half. Nebraska stayed hot from the field and used a layup from Catheryn Redmon to go up by 21, 32-11, with 3:54 left in the frame.

A jumper from senior Shakara Jones put the score at 34-15 at the 1:17 mark but Nebraska's Lindsey Moore hit a fast break layup and a three-pointer with one second on the clock for a 39-15 Husker halftime lead.

Nebraska's scorching shooting continued into the second half, as the Cornhuskers hit on over 60 percent of its shots for most of the frame. The home team managed to increase its lead to 40, 74-34, with 4:10 remaining in the contest.

Mizzou returns home to Mizzou Arena to host the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. The Tigers then travel to Waco, Texas, to face the No. 3 Baylor Bears on Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m.
